The Indian Head Massage is a relaxing holistic treatment that focuses on massaging acupressure points on the head, neck, and shoulders, with the aim of rebalancing your body’s energies.
Indian Head Massage is performed on the upper back, neck, shoulders, arms, head and face. This stimulates blood flow and enhancing circulation to these areas. Improved blood flow not only nourishes the tissues but also facilitates the removal of toxins, thereby supporting the body’s natural detoxification processes
The massage last around 30 minutes
Indian head massage has many benefits, including:
* The objective of sports massage is to alleviate tension and stress built up in the body’s soft tissues during physical activity. It is designed to improve circulation and lymphatic flow, remove waste, and alter muscle tone and length.
* Sports massage can break areas down quickly and effectively where minor injuries and lesions occur.
* It can help prevent niggling injuries and areas of tension which often get in the way of performance, achievements, or just daily function.
* Sports massage treatment is not just for the sports person. It can also benefit those individuals who have physically demanding as well as those who experience occupational, emotional, and postural stresses which may lead to similar complaints.
* Sports massage is not designed to be relaxing and calming, it has a therapeutic aim. You may feel a little sore post-treatment as this type of massage is more intense. This should, however, leave your body feeling refreshed and revitalized.
What is Sports Therapy:
* Focuses on injury rehabilitation and prevention
* Uses a combination of hands-on treatment and exercise, a sports therapist will examine, treat, and guide you back to full, active, or occupational health.
* Sports Therapy isn’t exclusive to athletes or injuries caused by exercise.
Types of treatment our therapists may perform include:
▪ Joint mobilisation
▪ Guided stretch
▪ Soft tissue release
▪ Sports massage
▪ Exercise analysis and correction
After treatment, you will be given a set of exercises and stretches to regain strength and mobility in the affected areas. The prescribed movements will be taught to you carefully so that you are doing them safely and they will have the desired effect. From there you and your therapist can build a new regime to include the best exercises for you.
The end goal is not only to take away the pain but also to educate you on how and why you became injured. With your new knowledge, you can prevent further injury in the future.
